Stunning Individual Ferrari Rosso Corsa Over Cohiba/Amaro Tan and Brown Two-Tone Leather, Comp Pack with 4,600 Miles and 7-Speed DCT.
In the collector car world, there are a number of things that separate a good car from a truly great car. These can be unique options, final production years, ultra-low miles or special order colors. This 2020 BMW M4 Competition checks basically every single one of those boxes. Towards the end of E9X production, BMW announced it had made the controversial decision to separate the 3-Series into two models for the next generation, with the 3-Series and M3 representing 4-door cars, while the 4-Series and M4 were two doors. Although there was initially some pushback, the fact was these new variants of BMW’s most popular M car were so good people quickly set aside any issues they had with the naming conventions and got down to what was truly important- enjoying the car. As BMW does, throughout the model run, new variants of the M3 and M4 were introduced with performance packages like the Competition Pack and later, the CS. Although these were the first M cars of this size to feature forced induction, the fast, flexible powerband meant that they were both fun on your favorite track or backroad, but also easy to live with around town.
This 2020 BMW M4 Competition is from the final year of production for the F82 chassis and shows just 4,600 miles from new. Utilizing BMW’s Individual program, this car was painted from the factory in an absolutely stunning shade of Ferrari Rosso Corsa, which is paired with black Shadowline trim around the car’s exterior. The included window sticker shows in excess of $28,500 in factory options - of which $4,500 of which was the custom paint color. With the Competition Package, the exterior received the aforementioned Extended Shadowline Trim, as well as a stunning set of the Style-666M wheels which are arguably some of BMW’s all time best-looking wheels. As one would expect, the car is in exceptional condition throughout and presents as essentially brand new when you are up close and personal.
The interior of this M4 is just as interesting as the exterior, with a special Cohiba/Amaro two-tone brown leather interior with red accent stitching and carbon fiber trim throughout. It’s rare when you’re dealing with a car that has special exterior paint, that the interior lives up to what you see on the outside- but this car absolutely does that. Ordered at a cost of more than $12,800, the rich tan leather on the outer section of the sport seats is paired with dark Amaro brown perforated leather centers with the illuminated BMW M logo affixed to the backrest. The center console, dashboard trim, and paddle shifters are all trimmed with glossy carbon fiber trim, which provides a stunning contrast against the tan and brown leather.
In Competition Package trim, the BMW M4 is powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6 as the standard M4, but with some tweaks to boost the power. A new tune adds 19 horsepower for a total of 444, and, when paired to the 7-speed DCT gearbox found in this car, means 0-60 mph happens in less than 4 seconds. The Competition Package is more than just an ECU tune though, with a thoroughly reworked suspension that includes new springs and dampers, as well as stiffer anti-roll bars and Adaptive M-Suspension. This makes for a car that is noticeably tighter and more responsive on the road, without being overly harsh and compromising.
The BMW M3 and now the M4, are probably the most beloved enthusiast cars in the brand’s lineup.
