*New Arrival* Stunning 1988 Alpine White over Cardinal Red E30 M3 with 59,077 miles!
This special E30 M3 comes to us out of IND’s Personal Collection. It started its life as a Florida vehicle with its original owner until 2016 when it moved to Illinois and eventually found its way into the IND Collection. As you would expect this M3 was given continuous care and we’re thrilled to now see it here at the EAG facility. We’ll be performing our comprehensive inspection and services to ensure this example is turn-key and ready to be enjoyed for the next enthusiast.
The condition of this example is incredible and shows off the highly desired Alpine/Cardinal combination properly. Mechanically it received enthusiast level upgrades in the form of KW Suspension, SuperSprint mid-section, and Eisenmann rear muffler. This exhaust system is mild when driving around town but allows the S14 to sing its tune when driving spiritedly. It’s the perfect pairing to the M3 ethos that began in 1988 for the US.
The iconic original M3. The street version of the most successful DTM racing car of all time and model that tattooed the Motorsport colors in the mind of every enthusiast. The motorsport treatment on the E30 platform was immense with the only body panels that remained stock being the hood and the roof. The rear trunk lid was made of glass-reinforced plastic raising that section and flattening the rear window. That rear window, and windshield, was glued into place as opposed to the other non-M models that used a frame and gasket. And, to top it all off, box flares were fitted both front and rear creating an even larger divide between the non-M version of the 3 series. With this much effort put into making the M3 look like a racecar for the road you hope changes were made to make it perform as one. The team at BMW M did not disappoint.
Balance is key when building a vehicle that will see track time and that’s exactly what was struck when the M3 went into production. Its beating heart was a 4 cylinder, dubbed the S14, that loves sustained high-revs and was able to be placed rear-ward in the engine bay while also being lighter than the 6 cylinder counterpart. The S14 was equipped with individual throttle bodies creating a glorious induction note and an output of 192 HP. Upgraded brakes bespoke to the M3 were fitted to slow things down while suspension enhancements from bushings to struts created that addictive turn-in and sustained sweeper feel. We could go on for days about the details, but it boiled down to the BMW M team being dedicated to the driving feel.
Now, 36 years later, you have the team at EAG preserving this passion and admiration for these special vehicles. Please contact us for additional photos, in-depth services getting completed, and an opportunity to indulge in E30 M3 discussion.
